NURSING - NATUROPATHY - WESTERN HERBAL MEDICINE - HOMOEOPATHY - NUTRITIONAL MEDICINE - AROMATIC MEDICINE
This course is for people who want to work as an enrolled nurse. You will be required to undertake clinical work placement in a variety of approved clinical facilities. You will learn about legal and ethical issues in health care, effective communication strategies, anatomy and physiology and development through the lifespan. A range of medical and health problems and related nursing care in a variety of contexts such as medical/surgical nursing, paediatrics or aged care as well as the administration of medication is also delivered within the course.
As clinical work placement in a public, private hospital or other clinical facility is a compulsory part of this course, you will need to undergo occupational screening and be vaccinated against infectious diseases.
On successful completion of the course the learner will be eligible to apply for enrolment as an enrolled nurse with the Nurses and Midwives Board of NSW.

NATUROPATHY
Naturopathy is an umbrella term that encompasses many forms of complementary and natural medicine modalities. There are three main branches within naturopathy: nutrition, homoeopathy and herbal medicine. A Naturopath will utilise all of these modalities in practice. Additionally, naturopaths have a solid grounding in the medical sciences.
The course covers a wide range of subject topics including chemistry, biochemistry, pathology, symptomatology, diagnosis and pharmacology. You will learn about herbal medicine, nutrition, homoeopathy and iridology. Importantly, you will also gain the practical skills by working with clients.

Western Herbal Medicine's roots date back to Greek and Roman times and beyond to Ancient Egypt. Discover the principles of plant identification, actions, indications and prescriptions of hundreds of herbs, and learn how to manufacture a range of herbal preparations. The course consists of a combination of lectures, clinics, tutorials, practical demonstrations, and case studies.

Homoeopathy is a system of medicine that works by administering patients a dilute dose of a substance that in a crude form would cause symptoms similar to that which the patient is experiencing. Homoeopathic medicines often contain active ingredients diluted to a beyond a measurable level. As a result the medicines increase their therapeutic potential while minimising side effects.
This course takes you from learning the fundamental theory of homoeopathy to becoming a fully competent Homoeopathic Practitioner. You gain an excellent grounding in classic homoeopathic principles, including history and philosophy, intensive materia medica (the study of homoepathic medicines, case taking and prescribing), pharmacy, manufacturing of remedies, and clinical application. And there's a healthy dose of learning methods such as lectures, tutorials, class demonstrations, clinics, and much more.

Aromatic Medicine is the scientific use of pure volatile chemical substances known as 'essential oils' which have been prized for their fragrance as well as their restorative effects on the body, mind and spirit for thousands of years. Overseas these essential oils have long been recognised as therapeutically beneficial for oral ingestion. Australia only very recently has recognised the benefits of the internal use of essential oils and ACNT is one of the first colleges to offer this qualification.
This is the most comprehensive course of its kind in Australia. In essence, you'll develop an in-depth understanding of an extensive range of essential oils and application methods, while operating within the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. You also cover essential advanced science areas such as anatomy and physiology, symptomatology and diagnosis, and advanced clinical aromatherapy and aromatic pharmacy.
